In honor of the Fringe soundtrack release today let’s talk about how at the end of 5.02 when the team is watching Walter on the tape they use the Fringe Division theme but slowed down and muted because the team is back together but not yet restored to their former glory.

When we finally do hear the full-on Fringe Division theme this season it’s gonna be awesome.

Oh yeah this happened too in the finale and it was amazing.

I didn’t realize how much I loved the Sarah Connor Chronicles OST.

The Funeral – Greg Edmonson

(from Firefly)

I won’t say Firefly has my favorite TV score of all time, but tonally it was absolutely perfect for the show.

Do Shapeshifters Dream of Electric Sheep? : Chris Tilton

(I don’t even know if that’s what this piece is called since there’s no soundtrack yet, but it was at the end of that episode and I REALLY wanted it so I ripped the audio)

I’m just gonna re-reblog this because this is one of my favorite Fringe scores of all time and this whole sequence was brilliant.

The way it transitioned into the sinister Walternate theme we know after that soft, peaceful intro made me sit up straight in my chair. I see this as the beginning of Walternate’s quest for revenge. And I haven’t even seen the episode yet. This #FringeFriday sure is looking good so far.

Tracks I want on the Season 2 soundtrack:

  • The variation of “All Along The Bell Towers” that plays at the end of A New Day In The Old Town.
  • “Olivia’s Theme” that plays throughout the season (while she’s talking about Charlie’s death, for example).
  • The music during the elevator/ventilation system montage in What Lies Below.
  • Everything in Jacksonville.
  • 80s-style theme song.
  • Peter’s funeral music.
  • Alistair Peck’s theme from White Tulip (as he walks away from the train).
  • Peter/Olivia theme in Over There Part 2 (which we’ve heard several times since and also plays in White Tulip).
  • Music that plays as Walter looks out at the Blighted trees.
  • Actually, just everything from Over There, Parts 1 and 2.

I’m know I left some stuff out, but those are the really big ones.

FRINGE SEASON 2 SOUNDTRACK ON FEBRUARY 22!

Video

I’m picturing my imaginary version of the Season 3 finale of Fringe right now. And it involves a montage of Peter going to use the machine, set to this score. Just picture how epic it would be.

I was thinking though, it would be a pretty good season finale if Peter reconfigures the machine to seal the breach between the worlds rather than destroy the other side. Except he has no idea if he’s succeeded because either way (destruction or healing) they would never hear from the other universe again. So they just have to kind of hope it worked and that they didn’t just destroy an entire world. And then at the very last scene we flash over to the other side to see something crazy like, I don’t know, it getting fused with a third universe or something like that. Or, if necessary, omit that final scene and boom, series finale with nice Inception-style ambiguity.

I absolutely love this song—I’d even go far as to say it’s one of the best Fringe has had on so far.

THISSSSSSS I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS, ITS THE GREATEST SONG IN FRINGE UNTILL NOW

The song made the intertwined scenes beyond epic. The tension building up between death and climax. It felt like the final overture of a play. Newton’s farewell. And Altlivia’s symbolic moral death. Dramatic song, so cinematic!

I already want the Season 3 Soundtrack.
